Q: Why would new tabs don't load automatically?

A: For new tabs opened in the background (like CTRL+LeftClick or MiddleClick), SessionPaw suspends it by default to improve the performance of opening many tabs. You can disable it at the SettingsPage.

Q: How to improve Chrome’s performance with many windows or tabs opened?

A: Just some small advices:

• Save and Close them frequently (ฅ´ω`ฅ)
• Enable Chrome’s Memory Saver
• Use these two utils sometimes, hibernate tabs via Chrome’s Discard-Tab function, minimize most Chrome windows.
• Be careful, try to not use any Suspender Extention if they don’t leverage Chrome’s Discard-Tab function, because they would use their speical urls to replace yours, then you may lose them forever.

Q: Where is the Super-Preview or Big-Screenshot?

• A: For firefox users, you need to enable a permission manually. It is Access your data for all websites.
• And for both firefox and chrome users, enable Allow in Incognito or Run in Private Windows for SessionPaw to make super-preview as well as tab/window management available under incognito mode.

Q: Can you support opening side panel instead of popup card when click the browser action icon?

A: Due to chrome’s limit, no way to programmatically toggle this behaviour.

1. I would give SidePanel a keyboard shortcut ( but also need set by user manually) to trigger it.

   

2. For now

   1. PopupCard is useful to current window.
   2. SideView is suitable for cross windows.
   3. SidePanel looks great but not so useful. ( removed from 5.1.2657, too many problems )

3. If you feel the SideView( the separate one) too broad, you can narrow it on the options page, and/or override it by normal windows.

   

Q: Can you support middle click on SessionPaw UI?

A: Due to Windows defalut behaviour (show a special cursor to scroll page or pan after middle click), it is better to not ocuppying middle click.

Q: Where is the crash recovery?

A:

• All the windows saved can be viewed at the Saved Session window, it is located at the left-bottom corner. Then you will find it in the AutoSaved section.
• Be careful, auto-save only works when SessionPaw SideView open.

Q: Why are there so many gaps between SideView and other windows, as well to the border of desktop?

A: Due to Windows 10 and earlier versions’ bad design, whether you use 100% zoom ratio or not, the system positions all non-maximized windows with some visual gaps. I have no good idea on this problem, it works great on macOS and Windows 11. Maybe you can give me some advices through the discord or email?

Q: Why are the SessionPaw’s Popup windows’s titiles so ugly? with so many ——— as prefix?

A: firefox doesn't let popup window be an indie icon on the windows taskbar, which I like this chrome's feature on windows very much, also feel bad that chrome doesn't support this on mac. that's why I made sessionpaw's windows' title so ugly, with many -------- as prefix to help people find them.
